The Rabid Hands art collective is organizing a massive one-day sound art show called Sequence of Waves at St. Cecelia’s Convent in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The show will take place Saturday, January 29th, from 2p.m. to 9p.m. and will feature 60 different artists! The experience will be a combination of both audio art and visual art to stimulate the senses.
A former covenant and school, St. Cecilia's gallery soon became a hub for rotating art exhibitions and film screenings. Its potential for sound resonance inspired the people at Rabid Hands to allow many different artists to create their own sensory experiment within their two week residence at the gallery. As the space does not lend itself easily to one continual visual experience, the artists were encouraged to work with the area in a unique way and create their projects with their neighboring artists in mind. The Sequence promises to be as much a collaborative work as it is a showcase of individual talent. It's a really exciting venture and should be a great experience for all those involved.
