Magnifico Giornata Launch at Beaumarchais

Last night, celebrities gathered at New York City hot spot, Beaumarchais, to celebrate the launch of Magnifico Giornata's Essence Collection a new line of infused sparkling wines. The party was hosted by VH1's Carrie Keagan, who is a partner in the brand. Guests enjoyed hors d'oeuvre pairings with each flavor of the collection, which included Ginger Peche, Grapefruit Blanc, and Lavender Honey. The new sparkling wine collection is the perfect girly drink to celebrate any special occasion and comes in a beautiful gold bottle.

Best of Holiday Bubblers
If I could turn on my sink facet and have true Champagne flow from the pipes, I’d die a happy woman! I’d also charge people by the glass to drink from my miraculous fountain, but that’s beside the point. Though I am an equal opportunist when it comes to good wine, I think Champagne might be my favorite, and I’m hard pressed to think of an occasion when I might be inclined to turn down a glass or two (or three). True grower Champagne stands alone as the most luxurious of all bubbly, but there is also a whole world of bubbles available for the savvy drinker for a fraction of the cost.
Va Va Va Veuve!

Since I can remember, there has always been a bottle of Veuve Clicquot Champagne at our family gatherings. There was Veuve at my parent’s wedding, my brother’s wedding, and when I graduated college. There was Veuve for Christmases, New Years, and even birthday brunches. Although my family have used it a lot to ring in our celebrations, the Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin company has their own celebration to ring in. This year, 2011, marks the 200 year anniversary since Veuve’s Comet Vintage of 1811.

Cheer for Italy with a Bellini!

Today's 2:30pm match is Italy versus Paraguay. If you are rooting for the Italians to win then support the team by making this Italian cocktail!

The original Bellini includes 2/3 cup of white peach puree, 1 teaspoon of raspberry puree, and 1 bottle of chilled Italian sparkling wine or champagne. If you can't find white peaches, you can use yellow peaches to substitute. As for the Italian sparkling wine, its best if you use Prosecco or Asti Spumante Brut. But if you want to serve this as a non-alcoholic cocktail, then simply replace the wine or champagne with sparkling juice or seltzer.
