Diane Von Fürstenberg’s new collaboration with ROXY is set to launch just in time for spring break! Being released online and in stores on March 7th, the surfer-chic collab between the high-profile designer and the Huntington Beach, CA.-based apparel line is a celebration of natural beauty and confidence. All pieces “reflect Diana Von Fürstenberg’s love of beach culture and nature as well as ROXY’s active and trailblazing spirit.” By combining DVF’s fun, bold prints with ROXY’s signature swim silhouettes the line is playful and empowering. Designed “for women who want to be the women they want to be” the collection includes ROXY’s beach essentials such as swimwear, cover-ups, board shorts, rash guards, and beach bags. For the most part, the bikini separates can be mixed and matched to create a bikini that’s perfect for your body type and style sense. We especially love the pastel tribal print of the Hopscotch Multi bikini with Knotted Bandeau Top! (top: $54, bottom: $46)
With Spring Break 2011 approaching, both SB veterans and virgins prepare for a week of sun, sand, and sipping. This year’s Spring Break is even more welcome as the long, harsh winter is coming to an end.
When approaching SB, we can easily place our cast of characters into three groups: the party animals, the sophisticated scholars and, of course, the sorority girls. Here are cocktail suggestions and recipes for each of these SB crews. Here’s to a week filled with hookups and hopefully no throw-ups.
The Party Animals: We will find your group most likely cross-dressing and dancing on a bar facing the ocean. For your group, upgrade your traditional beer bongs with a local flare. Whether you are chilling in Florida, Mexico or Cali, you can find great locally produced brews that will add a dash of environmental consciousness to your head rushes.
Spring Break is here and although you can hit any South Florida bar and find an arrangement of vacation-inspired drinks, some of those may seem overpriced to you. So why not stay home and prepare some of your own cocktails? You can whip these up before hitting the clubs as a cheap alternative to a large bar bill; or just throw your own party and try these out on your friends. The best part of the latter option is that if the party does get a little wild, at least you’ll know where you’ll wake up the next day!
Strawberry Basil Mojito – Miami wouldn’t be Miami without a Mojito! So here’s a sweet alternative to a traditional mint mojito- the Strawberry Basil Mojito!
Needless to say, when on Spring Break everyone, and I do mean everyone, hits the beach! But with finding parking and the hassle of commute, why leave the beach to eat? So I’ve included a quick guide to some awesome beach eats so you won’t even have to worry about leaving the beach and miss a second of that tan. All of these can be found on our one and only Ocean Drive!
The Pelican Cafe is a Miami Beach landmark. Located in the famous Pelican Hotel, the Pelican Cafe is an oasis of casual dining in Ocean Drive. They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week, as well as a weekend brunch. Perfect for no matter what time you find yourself at the beach! 826 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach, 33139. 305- 673-3373

With Spring Break here, and summer quickly approaching, there comes the sudden urge to indulge in, what Miami is best known for, cocktails! But with so many place where you can find an umbrella in your drink, where must one go? So, I turned to the pros and my industry friends for their suggestions for the absolute, must try, melt in your mouth, "gangsta" frozen and umbrella drinks on South Beach. Whether visiting or residing, print this quick reference list and keep it with you at all times. Try them all, though I do not suggest trying all six in one run!
The month of March is a never-ending array of events and more than legitimate reasons to enjoy a night out on the town. We have Winter Music Conference, Ultra Music Festival and not to mention the ultimate of all party weeks, SPRING BREAK, to indulge ourselves in! But where do you go to find a melting pot of South Florida’s culture at its finest? The one and the only “Gallery Walk”, a monthly event held in Miami’s thriving Wynwood and Design District.
It's spring break and you've got your hair in place, the perfect bathing suit and a summer beach body. Now, just add the makeup to complete your look. A day on the water doesn't have to mean a neglected make up routine!
To start off, remember to protect your face from harmful UV rays that can damage your skin while you're enjoying the beach. Check out our post on the best beauty products with SPF here.
Achieving the perfect face is all about application. You don't want thick makeup, so try a few products that are optimal for water wear. First, try a tinted moisturizer with SPF like Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer. These lightweight moisturizers double as foundation without giving a caky look. If necessary, opt for a waterproof concealer to correct those problem areas. Next, for the perfect sun-kissed look, apply bronzer along the cheekbones, forehead and the bridge of the nose.
For those of you who don’t know, I am full Colombian, born and raised. I love everything Colombian, especially the food. I love all Latin food for that matter. There are days where I’ll be willing to trade my usual Colombian Sancocho for Dominican Mofongo, no complaints! So you can imagine my excitement for this weekend’s festivity that will not only allow me to represent my ethnicity, but also enable me to stuff my face with every Latin food imaginable! That’s right, CALLE OCHO! I can hardly contain my foodie composure. As I get my Colombian jersey ready for this Sunday’s festivities, I can’t help but think how cool it is to see so many ethnicities represented on just one street! Not only that, but we get to experience other cultures through the best ways possible- their food and music.
