The only thing better than football season is Super Bowl night. Friends, food, and brews. That's really all you need for a good time. Oh, and a prime spot to view it all. We've got the best spots to watch the Ravens and 49ers duke it out and with plenty of special deals, everyone will go home a winner.
The Windsor & The Windsor Gansevoort Park: Recently opened, Windsor Gansevoort Park will be throwing an off-the-hook superbowl party starting at 4pm. There will be a live DJ accompanying the four large flat screens that line the walls. Each banquet also has its own personal flat screen TV. The Windsor's original location will also be throwing a viewing party along with fresh, seasonal cocktails and gourmet comfort food.
Yay for the NY Giants!!!!! This is going to be an insane week with tons of celebrations. The Giants players will be hosting parties all week long. Tonight after the parade, Victor Cruz has a party at Kiss and Fly, while some of the other players like Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs will be hosting a big party at SL. That is the party I will definitely be at. A few Sundays ago when they won they literally landed back in NYC and went directly to SL (SL is without a doubt the best place to go to on Sunday nights). If you decided against going to the Superbowl in Indy, the second best place to be would have been Ainsworth! And that's where I was all day and night with my girlfriends, and Miss New York contestant, Brittany Marsh.
So the Dolphins didn't make it to the Superbowl this year (and haven't been there since 1985 - wow that's when I was born!) But, that shouldn't stop football fans from enjoying the action at several of our city's sports bars, hotels and clubs this Sunday.
Skybar at Shore Club invites guests to watch the Giants and Patriots go head-to-head Miami style with the ultimate poolside experience. Partygoers and football fans, alike, can watch the teams duke it out for the Lombardi Trophy while viewing the game on a Jumbo Sized Screen making you feel as if you were right there in the action. In true football fashion, Shore Club’s signature restaurant, Terrazza, will be serving up a poolside BBQ, as well as drink specials all night long. Do something different for Superbowl this year and head to The Bell House for some live comedic commentary from Shane Mauss (Conan, Jimmy Kimmel, Comedy Central), and April Macie (Howard Stern, Last Comic Standing). They will be hosting a live feed of Superbowl tweets from contributors at WitStream. Enjoy drink specials and food from Urban Rustic. Start pre-gaming at 5:30pm.
Be a little unique this Sunday, with Mexican street hot dogs, alitas de pollo, chicharrones, and of course, the game on the big screen TV. To add to the rivalry, Hecho en Dumbo's chef Danny Mena will be competing against chef Bill Dorrler of Osteria Morini and chef Einat Admony of Balaboosta on the NFL Channel's pre-game cookoff, which will be judged by chef Marc Forgione (Iron Chef) and linebacker Dhani Jones. Uapa!
Last night, plenty of stars were gathered in Dallas, TX, to see the Green Bay Packers topping the Pittsburgh Steelers by a score of 28-25.
Christina Aguilera messed up the National Anthem; The Black Eyed Peas performed the half-time show, Usher joined them; Cameron Diaz fed boyfriend A-Rod with popcorn; Ashton Kutcher got bored; Michael Douglas looked fine and happy with wife Catherine Zeta Jones; Maria Menounos, Jessica Szohr, Mark Salling, Hugh Jackman and Owen Wilson all grabbed primo seats to enjoy the NFL's most important game of the season.
100.000 people were watching her last night performing the National Anthem before The Super Bowl kick-off. It was the biggest stage of her life, and she messed it up. Was it the stress? The emotion? The excitement? Probably a bit of all that.
Instead of singing "O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming" she improvised "What so proudly we watched at the twilight's last reaming."
But as a pro, she continued singing one of the hardest songs to perform, without making any other lyrics mistake.
Last week, Cameron Diaz, 38, and boyfriend Alex Rodriguez, 35, were relaxing on the Beach in Miami, Florida, both showing off their abs to the paparazzi.
After their trip under the sun, they flew to Dallas to enjoy last night's Super Bowl. And they've been caught in a very embarrassing moment, right after the commercials...
When you're a famous baseball player, it seems that you need some help to eat your own popcorn. There's something about Mary star was spotted hand-feeding A-Rod in their luxurious lodge.
Don't worry Cameron, you're not the only one who got caught by the cameras: Ashton Kutcher looked bored to death, John Madden was texting and Laura Bush just seemed amused...
Fox Television and The Football National League just made it official.
This year, the National Anthem will be performed by the five-time Grammy award winning singer-songwriter Christina Aguilera on February 6, just before the kickoff between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers at Cowboys Stadium.
"I have been performing the anthem since I was seven years old and I must say the Super Bowl is a dream come true. I am really excited to be part of such an iconic event."
The Superbowl is not a first time for the Burlesque's actress as she performed during the halftime show in 2000. This year's halftime show will be performed by the Black Eyed Peas.
Just for the record, The Superbowl drew more than 153 million viewers last year.
