We are in it: the inevitable decrescendo towards civility and normalcy. The frigid aftermath of the volatile highs of St. Paddy’s weekend are typically associated with a week-long hangover—a gradual decompression from the bombast and insanity that lulls the weekly warrior into a funk. To alleviate the languorous haze induced by the work-week grind, the natural remedy is to inject some joviality into the everyday—a proverbial week-long “hair of the dog” that lessens the sting of Reality’s cruel embrace!
With the emerald garb relegated to hibernation, the debaucheroues memories shall have to sustain for another year’s time. Until then, a little daily indulgence shall have to suffice!
Once again we find ourselves at the end of another NYC summer. As usual, everyone is complaining it went by too fast. This particular summer we survived a wicked heat wave, earthqauke, unusual amount of rainfall, and a hurricane to top it all off. I'd say we have earned a little time to let loose and enjoy the last official weekend of summer. For those staying local this weekend, NYC offers up plenty of Labor day party options to keep you well fed, intoxicated, and dancing your pants off.
On Friday, 9/2/11, the Tribeca hot spot Canal Room gets the Labor day weekend started with a birthday bash for promoters NYC Compton and Mike of FEELGOODCAREFRE. The party caters to Hip-Hop fans with Reggae, Hip Hop, R&B, and SOCA blasting through the stereo all night. Party Begins at 10:30 and ladies are free until midnight. $20 dollar advanced tickets are available, but get 'em quick, this event is set to sell out.
