With the links below you can hit the jackpot without spending a jackpot!
Look 1: Miley Cyrus attending the iHeartRadio Music Festival in a black cropped turtleneck paired with a silver pencil skirt and leopard pumps.
Recently, Joonbug had the opportunity to sit down with Shoshanna Lonstein Gruss creator of the popular Shoshanna fashion line. A proud New Yorker, Shoshanna creates pieces that can easily take you from work to after-work-cocktails and from week-day to weekend. Her flattering designs transcend limitations and perhaps that's why many of your favorite celebrities and TV personalities such as Taylor Swift, Maria Menounos, Rosario Dawson, Zooey Deschanel and Miranda Lambert opt to wear the Shoshanna collection. What's refreshing about the line, besides the vast and flirty designs is the fact that the pieces are priced well and Shoshanna (a socialite) is very down-to-earth. She is the master of "that dress." The one dress that you'll reach for again and again (and the one you'll receive all the compliments on). After this interview, we are really getting excited for Spring! Now, if the weather in Manhattan would just cooperate.
Just one month away, The 55th Annual Grammy Awards is spanning out to be the most anticipated awards show of 2013. According to the Grammy's Twitter handle, the first round of performers for music's biggest night were announced and include Mumford and Sons, Taylor Swift, and Rihanna. The guys from fun., and The Black Keys will be performing for the first time as well.
Fun. and Mumford & Sons are two of six artists this year who lead with six nominations and are both up for the Best New Artist award. Two-time Grammy winners The Black Keys nabbed five noms while five-time Grammy Award winner Rihanna and six-time Grammy winner Taylor Swift each scored three nominations. Safe to say this is a solid line up of musical talent and will be the key ingredient of the overall night, however, we're still crossing our fingers that an electronic music act could earn a spot in the coveted Grammy performance line up. Hey, we can only hope, right?
The most exciting news from across the pond this week has got to be the announcement that the Duchess of Cambridge is pregnant! Princess Kate is in her early stages of her pregnancy and was hospitalized for three-days for severe morning sickness. Her condition has many speculating that the duchess might be carrying twins, since this appears to affect mothers who carry twins more frequently than a mother carrying one baby. Her highness in not even 12-weeks apparently but the news has everyone in the media buzzing and celebs and dignitaries alike are sending their congradulatory messages to the happy couple.
We all know Taylor Swift is one to pen her real life experiences to produce massive hit songs that every girl (even if half of us claim not to) can relate to. In this case, a relationship with a bad boy gone wrong. Ring a bell? Swift is currently promoting Red, her new album set to be released on Oct. 22, and has previewed a few tracks which stick to her country pop sounds. However, in her newest release "I Knew You Were Trouble" comes seasoned with a little, wait for it.... dubstep.
The song features a hook infused with dub sounds over Swifts ever so powerful lyrics. With the help of Shellback and Max Martin, a Swedish production duo, the songwriting and vibe mixes a few traditional Swiftisms a la Skrillex to create a track that will probably be on repeat for the next month. Check it out below!
Remember the days when John Mayer was talked about on music networks and radio stations for being a talented musician that was able to perfectly blend pop/rock/blues music into one, creating his own unique sound by doing so? Songs such as “Your Body is a Wonderland,” “Waiting on the World to Change,” and “Daughters” garnered him more than just critical acclaim.
They also resulted in winning various prestigious awards musicians dream of winning (i.e. The Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance in 2003,) developing a huge fan base, as well as being played on radio stations all across the nation. John Mayer’s name is still a topic of discussion, but for all the wrong reasons. Rather than people/critics talking about how innovative of a musician he is, he has been stricken with the Kardashian-itis: being talked about because of who he was seen kissing or what female celebrity was caught leaving his hotel room in the A.M.
I have always admired the sparkling, exquisite designs that Judith Leiber has created for countless celebrities on countless red carpets for countless events and premieres! Glenn Close, Heidi Klum, Jennifer Lopez, Sophia Bush, Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry, Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift are just a few celebrities, models and actresses that have been seen carrying decadent Judith Leiber purses. Now, life can be your runway! I'm really excited about this new line of contemporary Leiber bags because it means that more of us have the option to enjoy something special from this timeless designer. Not to be without the certain dazzle that she's well-known for, each bag has an extra-special clasp at the top. Many are adorned with attractive crystals and stones! There are interesting textures that tie into the latest trends, but these bags are statement and investment pieces that can last a lifetime.
For anyone paying attention to today’s pop culture scene, it was easy to predict who would win big at this year’s Teen Choice Awards.
The show, hosted by The Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco, highlights the year's biggest achievements in entertainment while putting a spin on the typical awards show archetype. The winners are voted on by teenagers who cast their votes online, and the categories stem from the typical favorites and have come to include Choice Tweeter (Justin Beiber), choice vampire (Robert Pattinson), choice web star (Rebecca Black) and other zany categories.
The country cutie sure knows how to dress in this absolutely ghastly weather! The humidity ain't got nothing on the fashionistas of Manhattan. She flawlessly graced the concrete jungle with two cute dresses in separate occasions: first she was seen wearing a blue dress paired with pink heels and the other a pink ensemble, accesorized with green peep-toes.
Hopefully, if some New Yorkers are willing to brave the heat, perhaps you could run into Taylor at your favorite store!
Taylor is currently in the middle of her Speak Now tour at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey from Tuesday to Sunday. Glad to see that she's feeling better from her brief tango with bronchitis, which forced the star to cancel about three shows a couple of weeks ago in Charlotte, NC and Atlanta, GA.
