The ultimate keg and eggs brunch can be found at The Cannibal, beer and butcher shop café that specializes in—you guessed it—meat and beer. Sit at the 8-seat butcher counter for the best view of the chefs at work or enjoy the summer weather and sit in the garden section. Pair any one of their 450 beers paired with a delicious scrambled egg sandwich with cacio pepe and bacon. The menu also offers items such as country biscuits with sausage gravy and grilled cheese with Vermont cheddar, Gruyere, bacon and pork belly. Not in the mood for the traditional bellini? Try The Cannibal’s “brewdriver,” a cocktail that uses beer as a mixer. Brunch is served Saturday & Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Symphony of Shadows: A Tale from the Land Beyond the Veil- Rachel Klein Productions and Dixon Place are presenting the world premiere of this creepy tale. This show tells the story of a woman combating "a variety of sleep disorders, phantasmagorical night terrors, hypnotic horrors, and other, visually stunning conjurings from the subconscious depths of her own disturbed mind." The show combines elements of circus and aerial arts, dance, movement, burlesque, and operatic productions to vividly illustrate its storyline. The Bedford (110 Bedford Avenue, Williamsburg) held a special sneak preview of their newly appointed Executive Chef Jason Michael Giordano’s forthcoming Tavern Menu last night in their I-Beam barroom. Jason’s new contemporary American pub snack menu was inspired by the dinner served at the White House during President Lincoln’s inaugural dinner. With such an original concept a lot of research had to be done to recreate these dishes that time had forgotten. The Tavern Menu uses old world techniques with classic American ingredients to create dishes such as arancini (risotto balls), fried duck rillette (similar to pâté), devils on horseback (bacon-wrapped dates filled with cheese), and others. Diners also enjoyed a basket of delicately fried kale chips while snacking on the Tavern Menu sampler.
The Bedford is revamping its menu for the first time since opening in 2010! Along with the appointment of executive chef Jason Michael Giordano, formerly executive chef of Hotel Griffou, chef de cuisine at Mia Dona, and sous chef at Spice Market. Chef Giordano will start releasing new items on the menu, which will focus on contemporary American tavern cuisine.
Samplings from the new menu include bay scallops ceviche, pan roasted duck, and more. The restaurant will also incorporate green market ingredients in their dishes from purveyors such as Acme Smoked Fish Corporation, Meat Hook, and Mast Brothers Chocolate. Come March, the restaurant will also be serving up lunch and unveiling a new pub snack menu at the Back Bar at the Bedford.
