Best known for the breakout release of his popular dance hit, "Cross the Dancefloor," Treasure Fingers has become a prime beacon on just about every major electronic artist and record label's radar since emerging in the scene back in 2008.

Today, he has found himself an honorable place in the music industry as a respected DJ and producer, releasing countless originals and remixes that have conquered dancefloors across the globe. His remixes have stemmed from a spectrum of musical styles, from the indie underground to mainstream hip-hop, radio pop, and a plethora of notable electronic subgenres.

The Knocks Talk Turntables, Touring, and NYC

Straight out of New York's Lower East Side, indie-electronic duo, The Knocks, has been blowing up recently by putting out their own brand of dance music. Known for their viral remixes of tracks by the likes of Katy Perry, M83, and Dragonette, Ben "B-Roc" Ruttner and James "Jpatt" Patterson bring a sound we can only describe as falling somewhere between retro and new. What we do know is that it definitely makes us want to dance!

Just before a performance at Mansion Nightclub, the two sat down with Joonbug at the Perry Hotel in South Beach to tell us a little bit about their musical roots, their career goals, and what life is like for an artist in NYC.

Ultra Music Festival Survival Guide

The bad news: Last year the festival was at Bicentennial Park, a significantly smaller venue than this year’s Bayfront Park. There was little to no cellphone connection available, probably because I was sandwiched in a mass of 100,000+ people. I can’t speak for the new venue’s cellphone abilities, but with an additional 50,000 people, I’m assuming the same problem will present itself. Your best bet is to set up sporadic meeting spots amongst your friends throughout the day, in case someone in your group gets separated.

O'Neal McKnight: Round 2

We here at joonbug have a deep appreciation for musicians who play at our parties. If it wasn’t for them, our parties would just be a bunch of people standing around staring at each other like a bad high school reunion. Who wants to party like that?

Nevertheless, we hold a special place on our website for people like O’neal Mcknight. Musician, stylist, and overall great person, O’neal is always ready to bring a positive attitude to everything he puts his mind to. His career is quickly rising to an astronomical level and I was privileged to conduct a follow-up to his Halloween interview to ask him questions about his thoughts on where he’s come from and what to expect for the coming year.
