Justin Timberlake is having one fine moment right now. His record sales continue to grow as he bangs out hit after hit on the billboard charts. The 20/20 experience is an album that represents his growth in manhood and his musical diversity with more than a few nods to his executive producing buddy Timbaland. The pop sensation embarks on a tour this year heating up stages along the coast. As he continues to be the most celebrated entertainers of our generation, we look at Justin’s style evolution throughout the length of his singing career.
Well, the rumors proved to be true and just like that Justin Timberlake has moved right back into the music world almost like he never left. Through his homepage he offered an open letter to his fans and officially announced his new album, The 20/20 Experience due out later this year.
Shortly after announcing he'll be dropping a new album, the singer has released his first new track, "Suit and Tie," featuring HOV himself, Jay-Z and was also produced by Timbaland. It's very Timberlake. You know, a reintroduction to that R&B flow that showcases his infectious white boy swag, which comes so naturally for the Tennassee native. It's soulful, dreamy, and has an amazing beat.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, news has broke that Justin Timberlake will be releasing a new album soon. Timberlake took to Twitter late Wednesday night with an ambiguous tweet reading: "Thursday, January 10th, 2013 at 9:01 am PST...” possibly hinting he'll be dropping new music.
Since his last album, the highly acclaimed FutureSex/LoveSounds dropped in 2006, Timberlake has been focusing on his acting career but sources say he's been working with longtime collaborator Timbaland and has about 20 new tracks recorded already.
The past seven years have been successful for the singer. He's made movies, revived MySpace...but we're definitely ready for him to bring sexy back and drop some new jams.
*Update: It's confirmed! J Timberlake is in fact dropping a new album! Watch the announcement vid below.
The first act at the main stage was Demetrius who laid down his usual dutch house sounds. The young star was soon joined on stage by surprise superstar producer, guest, and father, Timbaland. Although we enjoyed the surprise visit, MC shout outs don’t mesh well with the natural flow of electronic music and by the end of his blabber we were ready for more tunes.
Timbaland, world famous music producer and Grammy award winner, is turning away from music for his newest venture. Labor Day weekend, he will launch LeSUTRA, a premium sparkling liqueur in four fruity flavors.
"With all my years in the wine and spirits industry, I have come across many fledging brands. It is really rare to find a brand with so much potential and unique craftsmanship. From the recipe formula and luxury packaging to the marketing presence and overall impact of a partner like Timbaland, we have a champion in LeSUTRA.” says co-owner, Tom Bruno.
While David Guetta is preparing for EDC Las Vegas this weekend as a headlining artist, he is also releasing new beats and vids. Nothing seems to stop this French hitmaker from dropping the hottest tracks with some of music’s biggest names.
Guetta’s 5th studio LIP, Nothing But the Beat, is scheduled to arrive August 30. He has enlisted an all-star cast of collaborators on the album, including Akon, Snoop Dogg, Usher, Will.i.am, Jennifer Hudson, Timbaland, Sia, and Dev.
Female rapper Missy Elliott has never been one to be shy about speaking her mind. This time around, however, her topic of conversation is less than a lighthearted one.
"I was (driving and) trying to put my foot on the brake, but my leg was jumping. I couldn't keep the brake down and almost crashed... I couldn't write because my nervous system was so bad - I couldn't even use a pen....My thyroid is functioning, so I haven't had to take medication in about nine months. (But) You live with it the rest of your life."
On a brighter note, Missy then talks about how she's lost 30 lbs all through exercise and is working on new music with Timbaland for her next album. We're rootin' for 'ya!
Check out Missy Elliott on the season premiere of Behind the Music on June 29th.
