We're on the cusp of springtime and there's no better time for some new music from our fave electro-pop duo, Timeflies! They've just released their new single, “I Choose U” which will be on their upcoming album, to be released via Forty8Fifty/Island Records later this year.
Everything you want and love for the ultimate dance party song is done right as it features the pair’s signature mix of dance, pop, and hip-hop. The release of “I Choose U” is yet another milestone for the Cal and Rez this year, who have already performed at the 2013 mtvU Woodie Awards Festival and were named by Billboard Magazine as 13 Artists To Watch In 2013. To add more, Timeflies will also perform at this summer's Lollapalooza music festival.
So what that it's Monday?! I like to think of Mondays as a good day. Mainly because my first thought every Monday is that my life may drastically change (in a good way), and that I had an entire weekend to discover new music. With that said, the playlist for this week is dedicated to cover songs! Sure, these songs are already killer in their original form but we've rounded up some seriously talented artists that put a new spin on each song. You'll hear an amazing mix of melodic Dubstep and Trap, RnB, and overall, just straight up good music.

Our fave guys, Timeflies, continue to progress with ease and prove they are making 2013 their absolute best year. They had a pretty decent 2012, you know, having an EP debut at # 2 on Billboard's Digital Albums Chart and selling out shows across the states, including NYC's Terminal 5 on February 8th and 9th.They're also in the works recording their first full-length album.
Now, we get the first video for "Swoon" off their One Night EP. The video chronicles what happens while the guys party on a Friday night at Greenhouse Nightclub in NYC but they end up someone else by the end of the night! Watch the video below to find out!
The wait is over and the day is here. Timeflies' long awaited EP, One Night is out for the world to hear. Since the NYC based duo broke out onto the scene, they've garnered much attention and can now add a huge accomplishment to their already amazing track record. In what is a true testament to their movement yet not surprising, their new EP soared to #1 on the iTunes Top Pop Albums Chart and is also #2 on the iTunes Top Albums Chart. The five track EP is currently beating out releases from top selling artists such as Rihanna, Pink and Taylor Swift.
The dynamic duo, who recently sold out New York's Terminal 5 in just one week, have made quite a name for themselves. When we chatted with them back in October, they were already forces to be reckoned with and have since been covering countless hit records from popular artists using their genre bending techniques to give each song their own Timeflies twist.
This past Friday, Timeflies took over Terminal 5 in NYC. They played to a packed crowd of screaming fans and proved they are players to watch out for in the music world. The stage presence between Cal and Rez was filled with charisma as they connected with their fans from the stage. Accompanying that charisma, was an immense amount of energy showcasing their versatile approach to each song they performed. The guys were pumped being in their respective hometown and it showed. They played a mix of well-known songs (with a Timeflies twist, of course!) as well as their own productions.
The duo is currently on their first headling tour, 'The One Night Tour,' which goes through November hitting 35 cities. We were able to catch up with them to see what their production routines are, how social media has helped them and what type of music they plan on making in the future.
We here at Joonbug love when we come across game-changing music talent. This is exactly why we're currently obsessed with Timeflies. A music duo that is creating new waves in the music biz by creating noise with no limitations. Their productions boast rock, pop, electro, and hip hop sounds--giving new life to each genre.
After meeting during college in Boston, Cal and Rez both had musical backgrounds. In time, they would come together to form Timeflies. Gaining attention for their remixes and singles, they realeased their first album, "The Scotch Tape," last Septemeber where it reached the iTunes top ten chart and hit # 2 on the iTunes Pop chart. In July, they released a mixtape, "Under The Influence," and are planning to release their second album this fall.
