Today, October 19th, wear and promote purple as much as possible. Join millions of people who will be donning purple for Spirit Day promoting the ban of bullying. Post photos of you and your friends wearing purple to Twitter and Instagram with hashtag #SpiritDay. And, see which celebrities and public figures are going purple at http://glaad.org/spiritday.
Millions wear purple on Spirit Day as a sign of support for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) youth and to speak out against bullying. Spirit Day started in 2010 as a response to the young people who had taken their own lives. Every year schools, sports leagues, organizations, churches, companies and stars stand up to bullying and "go purple."

New York tourists, commuters, and residents alike can all agree that Times Square’s appeal is undeniable. They can also agree that it has lacked an outdoor refuge to enjoy it from- until now. Haven, located atop the Sanctuary Hotel, offers 2,500 square feet of outdoorsy yet modern bliss. Guests can enjoy an array of tropical cocktails in the $15 range. One that sounds particularly inviting to us is the Starlight, consisting of Grey Goose Le Citron vodka, fresh kiwi, and vanilla bean. Once in full swing, Haven will also offer a food menu for patrons to enjoy. Take a look at the pictures, we absolutely love the lounge’s décor!
Come celebrate the “candy of meats” on June 23rd in Times Square where bacon-lovers big and small will gather at the Arena Events Space for the first annual Bacon Bash! This bacon-centric event will feature bacon-inspired cocktails, treats, and bacon souvenirs. Food vendors, such as Tommy Lasagna, Lucky 777 Chili Company, Little Town NYC will be serving savory and others will be serving savory bacon treats while sweet bacony goodness will be served by Baconery, Bacon Bites, and more.
The looks at Carmen Marc Valvo’s fall 2012 fashion show were nothing short of glamourous, sleek, and chic. Held at Nasdaq, Times Square over the weekend, his collection heated up an otherwise very cold day. As he had stated before his show, his inspiration was pythons. His inspiration came alive through sleek hair, fitted pieces and dark, mysterious eye makeup. To add an extra kick of sultry, some models walked in dark oversized sunglasses, adding a flair of film noir.
Most of the collection contained a neutral pallet filled with gold, black, white, and nude. However, there were a few pieces that held a fantastic shade of lime green and the texture combinations used were impeccable. Mixing snakeskin inspired material with fur stoles, dresses with a scaly affect, and light whimsical tool mixed with thicker materials like sateen and poly-combos really brought the pieces together beautifully. All of the combinations were ultra fem as most had belts at the waistline, and were form-fitting. The few suits that landed on the runway were also a great addition as they were not as form-fitted but still maintained the look of a classy, successful woman.
It's upon us. The brutal, infamous NYC winter. We already got a little taste of it with the recent (way too early!) snow storm. While we're enjoying a streak of beautiful fall days as of late, the pleasure won't last as the frigid winter sneaks upon us. It's inevitable, so we might as well make the best of all NYC has to offer during the winter months. As it is quite beautiful in its own right. While there’s something to make each season your favorite, we can’t help but love both summer concerts and winter galas. We have to admit that the allure of getting high off of crisp air and shopping on 5th just before Christmas, is insurmountable. It might be the fact that everything glistens, and glimmers, from the diamond shine of falling snow to the crackling warmth of your portable Manhattan fireplace. So in celebration of the coziest time of the year, here or our top things to do in and around NYC this winter.
Most people are probably (and hopefully) aware that sex trafficking happens abroad. But, the US? Our cities and suburbs? Our streets?
The documentary "Sex and Money" addresses three main problems that envelop human trafficking in America. The film also offer solutions to these problems, and only with our collaboration can this awful crime be stopped.
What are the current problems?
Awareness: Most do not believe that the sexual exploitation of children occurs on American soil, and even if they do, they do not know how to spot it.
