One of the most recognizable and energetic names in the realm that is dance music is Mr. Steve Aoki. The bossman of Dim Mak records is making a stop at the luxe LAVO NYC nightclub this Thursday, Oct. 18th and in proper Aoki fashion some ritual cake throwing may occur or better...a casual stage dive.
A leader in electronic dance music established in 1996, Aoki has a pretty sweet tracklist of production and remix work. His recent album, Wonderland, features top talent such as LMFAO, Wynter Gordon, Laidback Luke, and Lil Jon. While he is a hybrid producer his DJ sets are just as chaotic and filled with gripping progressive and electro beats.

Guests were greeted with a red carpet photo opp followed by passed hors d'oeuvres and cocktails (of course) featuring the fizzy new vodka including Bubbly Flower with Elderflower liqueur, chilled Absolut Tune served in a flute with a lemon twist and the Naughty Bellini that boasted Absolut Peach and peach puree topped with Absolut Tune. The Tres Chic offered up a straight-up, no nonsense taste of Tune with Absolut original vodka, lemon juice, simple syrup and fresh mint while the Blushing Bombshell served up Tune with a twist with Absolut Citron, campari, lemon juice and fresh grapefruit.
Last Thursday, celebrated musician Flo Rida hosted his "Hey Jasmin Experience" concert in Miami. Since his recent release of new smach album Wild Ones, which features hit singles "Whistle," "Good Feeling," and "Wild Ones" featuring Sia, Flo Rida released "Hey Jasmin" as a free track and video in appreciation of his fans. The hip hop star followed up the release with an intimate club performance in celebration of the song, as well as in celebration of his #1 single "Whistle."
The artist was surprised by his management team when they presented him with an incredible cake honoring his hit. There was also a special guest appearance by Interscope recording artist JRand.
Sean Paul recently hosted a preview party for his upcoming album Tomahawk Technique at The Darby Downstairs. Party-goers enjoyed Voli Vodka cocktails while they rocked out to both classic Sean Paul tunes like "Temperature" and "Get Busy," as well as songs from his soon-to-be-released album. The first single off his album, "Got 2 Luv U," features Alexis Jordan and has already become a Top Ten hit in eight countries. The Jamaican dancehall and reggae star is working with a handful of talented producers, including Benny Blanco, Rico Love, and Stargate, and he even makes his own debut as a producer on his track titled "Roll wid di Don."
Last night, Mondrian SoHo welcomed its newest addition, Isola Trattoria and Crudo Bar in its breathtaking greenhouse room. The restaurant was inspired by the Italian Riviera, the Amalfi Coast, and Sicily.
