Last week, Sweet & Vicious hosted the hotest party of New York Social Media Week-- Obliterati. Attendees came from around the world to attend this bash that was sponsored by Splash.FM. DJ Frankenmack held down the fort spinning beats all night. But back to Splash.FM. What is it, you ask? Only the new invite-only social music discovery platform.
Attendees received exclusive access codes to Splash, which is still in Private Beta after its launch last month. On the platform, music lovers can search and sample songs, 'Splash' the ones they like, and get credit for finding good music before it hits the radio. Follow other users whose taste in music is similar, and Splash.FM will aggregate the Splashes into a personalized Billboard chart. You will be assigned a Splash Score based on how influential your taste in music is...for example, how many people 'Ripple' your tunes. The men behind this new social media outlet Jason Fiedler, UPenn ’11 and Alex Gatof, University of Michigan ’12 are youngins, but don't write them off. This new way to listen to your favorite tunes is sure to make a splash!
