With the July 4th holiday approaching a little fun in the sun is on the minds of many a Metro NJ/NYC area resident! It's time to kick back, relax and enjoy that much deserved vacation. Let's face it, we are invigorated by the energy of the city, but every so often it's nice to escape to a more relaxed atmosphere where you can recharge, relax and renew.
Recently, Joonbug decided to take a beach road trip to the lovely Garden State—New Jersey. We heard quite a bit of buzz regarding a lovely beach retreat that makes you feel as if you are on a Nantucket excursion for the weekend—but yet not far from the city.
As we approached the gorgeous property at The Beacon House in Sea Girt, NJ, just an hour and a half from Manhattan, we knew this was going to be an enjoyable weekend! Beautiful grounds, a refreshing pool, sunny skies and two large pristine white buildings with wrap around porches are there to greet you.
We checked in with the owner Candace and she was very helpful. Besides giving us a beach pass for the weekend to enjoy the pristine Sea Girt beach, she also gave us the scoop on tasty area restaurants and other fun activities. There are bicycles on the property and beach chairs which can be taken to the beach—which is literally around the corner! The beaches here are beautiful and the perfect place to catch up on a good read and your favorite fashion magazines!
After an enjoyable day at the beach, we came back to their immaculate and sparkling pool to unwind further as the cool ocean breeze went through my hair. While there we met some other visitors who were staying at The Beacon House for a bachelorette weekend. They too, agreed that The Beacon is a wonderful place. The decor of the rooms are beach inspired, very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Before going out for a nice dinner, we enjoyed a few laughs on the gorgeous porch downstairs from our room with our besties.
Prior to checking out on Sunday, we enjoyed a complimentary homemade and very delicious breakfast; fresh fruit cup, orange juice, coffee, blueberry french toast and tasty sausage accompanied by fresh flowers were the perfect send-off! The Beacon House also allowed us to lounge at the pool before we left for some additional R&R before heading back home. Joonbug definitely recommends this beautiful hotel with top-notch service! Surf's up! You can also visit their Facebook page to keep up with the latest and on Instagram to view the grounds! The Beacon also makes a fun and romantic excursion come the early fall.
