Every couple of years, there is always a musician who's name you can not escape. Sometimes for good reasons and sometimes for bad. But this past year has been one of the most succesful years for Pharrell Williams - the guy who just can't seem to do anything wrong when it comes to music.
His grip on the popular music charts will only strengthen with the upcoming release of his solo album, G I R L. Below is the teaser trailer for the album which is due to release on March 3rd. Looks like we got a masterpiece coming our way.
This past weekend there was a lot of celebration going on in New Orleans for the NBA All-Star Weekend, bringing in celebrities of all types from around the world to watch one of the most glorified sporting events in America. One of those celebs was none other than Pharrell Williams, who was invited to perform before the All-Star game between the East and West. The 20 minute performance was comprised of some of Pharrell's classic hits, as well as his newest single, "Happy". He brought out some friends for the performance as well - Diddy, Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg, Chad Hugo, Nelly, and his now legendary hat came back with a new style. Check it out above!
Skrillex is absolutely kiling the game right now with his Takeovers Tour. He started off in San Fransisco playing seven straight sold out nights, then came to Brookyln for five nights, all sold out as well. The last of show of his Brooklyn venture landed on Valentine's Day, at a Secret Warehouse at the very tip of northeast Brooklyn in a warehouse located at the end of a dead end, in a neighborhood we couldnt tell you anything about... but we can sure tell you about the show.
Opener, Tokimonsta put on a solid set which consisted of a good variety of music choices, from a remix of Waka Flocka's "Hard In The Paint" to Dillon Francis' "IDGAFOS," and Major Lazer's "Original Don". Following her, Lunice came out playing a straight trap/hip hop set with bangers from Big Sean, Rocko, Kanye West and his former duo TNGHT.
Generation Wild Tour 2014 will be making its stop at Pacha this Friday. Should be a fun night, with a packed line up - Deniz Koyu, Danny Avila and Mikael Weemerts all on the bill. Skrillex will be ending his Brooklyn Takeover this Friday at secret warehouse, that has yet to be announced. This show will be insanely massive. Although tickets are "sold out", there are plenty of them floating around the web (Stubhub, craigslist).

This past Friday, we arrived at Webster Hall for their Girls & Boys event, which is known for bringing some of the world's best EDM artists to play every week. Known for its four floors of partying, Webster Hall dedicates its main floor to the ravers to get there rage on, and is where we took residence for the night.
This time it was Paper Diamond headlining as part of his Cold Crush Tour, with openers LOUDPVCK and Gents & Jawns. The vibe was set straight as soon as the duo, Gents & Jawns took on the decks, as they completely played a bass and 808 beat heavy set. From there, LOUDPVCK, another duo, lit the place up with a set filled with trap, that had the whole crowd going nuts. There really is something about trap music, that just gets the crowd instantly amped up and completely set the tone for Paper Diamond to take the stage
In preperation of releasing his debut album, Dillon Francis has been constantly touring, and in doing so he is building his name by the minute. After all, what's the point of touring if you're not going to drop fresh new music to play at your shows? Which is exactly what he has done. Although there has been no recent news on the album, he has just released two new songs that should hold us over until then.

Starting tonight, February 3, Skrillex will begin his 2014 Takeovers Tour in San Fransisco, where he will take residency for the following six nights so he can completely obliderate the bay area. From there he will come to Brooklyn, New York where he will play a total of five nights at a different venue each night. The last night falls on February 14th - Valentines Day - where he will play at a yet to be announced warehouse. The buildup around the announcement of the location is increasing by the minute as the completely sold out show is quickly approaching.
What we do know is that it will be a crazy show, as Skrillex is known for putting on some of the best concerts in the world. We also know that there will be a number of special guests, with Lunice and TOKiMONSTA already announced as two of the openers. And we do know that Sonny has done this whole "Takeover" thing before, so expect him to kill it once again now in 2014, but this time its expected to be even better.
After teasing Super Bowl watchers with a preview of his next single which aired on a Bud Light commercial, Afrojack quickly released the official full-length version of the song, along with a music video for it.
"Ten Feet Tall" is the follow up to Afrojack's last single, "The Spark", which is expected to be on his upcoming debut album.This track has a lot more progressive sound than anything we have heard from the Dutch producer, and features vocals unlike those that we are accustomed to.
