French producer, Cedric Gervais won his first Grammy award this past Sunday for the Best Remixed Recording of a Non-Classical song, with his remix of Lana Del Rey's "Summertime Sadness". This song went global in 2013 and it hasn't faded away long past its season. It garnered its initial fame on the dance floor and soon after took over the airwaves as it climbed up multiple charts - most notably hitting #5 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The Bufallo, New York based duo, Solidisco, has just dropped some fire with their new single, "Top Of The World". It incorporates the sounds of the disco era, with an updated groove to it. The genre of nu-disco has really been brought to light this past year, as Daft Punk dropped Random Access Memories, and is now really getting the recognition that it deserves. The video for "Human" gives us a look in on the last 2 years of Krewella's touring and rise to fame. Dim Mak's latest signee, Coone, and the head honcho of the label, Steve Aoki, have come together to create this ridiculously tough track titled "Can't Stop The Swag". Slowly but surely, Aoki will bring hardstyle to the forefront of American EDM, and this track might be the one to finally take it there. After hearing the news a couple of days ago that Outkast will be reuniting on the Coachella and also play the Governors Ball , the boys came back with an even more exciting announcement today. Through their official website and Twitter they have released that they will be playing over 40 festivals this year to celebrate their 20 years together as a group. The dates and festivals are yet to be announced, but don't be mistaken - any fan of Outkast will be right on it when they are released, and so will we.
