SL (Simyone Lounge)
SL (Simyone Lounge) New Year's Eve 2013!! Meatpacking’s Hottest Lounge Opens its Doors for an Exclusive Engagement!
Description
Spend New Year's Eve 2013 at New York's downtown most buzzed-about hotspot, SL. Also known as Simyone Lounge, this chic, two-part space on West 14th Street in the Meatpacking District is actually subterranean, tucked beneath its sister property, a swanky gastro-lounge called Abe & Arthur’s. Opened just three years ago, SL is one of the most popular spots in the Meatpacking scene, an area that attracts the City's social elite.
SL is sectioned off into intimate sections featuring private tables positioned infront of color-changing lights that shine through x-rays and mirrors to create a dramatic yet high-energy scene. No expense was spared when crafting this trendy, innovative space from the bar to the Backroom to the reflective ceiling above the DJ Booth.
Since its debut, SL has been a favorite nighttime retreat for musicians, celebrities and members of the fashion industry. Kim Kardashian, Ne-Yo, Swizz Beatz, Drake, Kellan Lutz, Vanessa Hudgens, Russell Simmons, and Bar Refaeli have all been spotted soaking up the SL scene.
If you're looking to ring in the New Year in style, look no further than SL.

Music Crowd

When she first stepped behind the wheels of steel, Molly Joseph was living in New York City attending graduate school for acting. Needless to say, it quickly dawned on Molly that she had more than one creative calling to pursue. She immediately began doing everything in her power to learn as much as possible about playing records: taking music classes, observing other deejays, and pulling tons of all-nighters practicing on her turntables. Growing up in the New York City suburbs, Molly was raised on a steady diet of rock, Motown, and classical music by her parents. At school, however, hip hop reigned supreme, “We would sit in our cars during our free periods, smoking cigarettes and blasting Biggie, but then I’d go home and my Mom would be listening to Crosby Stills Nash and Young. It was a well-rounded education.” Molly’s eclectic musical environment fostered her appreciation of all musical genres and would later give birth to her versatile approach to open format deejaying, “If the crowd is into it, I’ll play a Rihanna record and follow it up with an 80’s track or some Golden Era hip hop. I like to mix it up and keep them guessing.” Molly has deejayed at many of New York’s hottest clubs (the Boom Boom Room at The Standard Hotel, The Darby, Riff Raff’s, Ph-D at The Dream Downtown, WiP); spun private events for clients ranging from The Oxygen Network and New York Magazine to Jenny Packham and Yigal Azrouel. In the summer of 2012 Molly broke into the festival world, deejaying the silent disco at The Governor’s Ball Festival in Randall’s Island, NY. About her career, Molly says, “It’s such a rush when you’re in a crowd and everyone is dancing and really feeling the music. But to be the one making it all happen… well, that’s a high of a whole different level. I am so lucky to be able to do what I love. ”
