Description

A New Year's Eve destination made popular by New York City's downtown scenesters, The General is a mix of Asian influences and downtown hipster chic. The epitome of cool, The General is the place to see and be seen this New Year's Eve.

On New Year's Eve, The General, an upscale restaurant in Manhattan's ultra-hip Lower East Side neighborhood, will transform into a modern lounge with an Asian twist.  Guests at The General will enjoy a lounge vibe amid vibrant red lights, while sipping on drinks from the premium open bar. Guests are invited to mix, mingle and dance throughout the night to music provided by a live DJ. At midnight, cheers to the New Year during the complimentary champagne toast.

The General transcends its restaurant roots for New Year's Eve and becomes an upscale party space worthy of a New Year's Eve fete. An EMM Group property, The General is a multi-concept bar-restaurant, attached to its sister properties FINALE and Jazz Room.  The General has an updated Asian feel and a glittering ambiance, from its red marquee sign outside, to its black leather seating and golden walls (a color palette symbolic of power and energy in Asian culture), The General sets the tone for nothing short of an elite evening on Manhattan’s Lower East Side.

This New Year's Eve, head to The General to ring in the New Year at this chic New York City niche.

Calling all party-goers! Purchasing ANY ticket to this event enables you to keep the night alive at the biggest New Years Eve After Party the city has to offer! Included with your ticket purchase, you will receive a complimentary After Party pass valued at $35 that caters to the elite, offering admission to Le Poisson Rouge starting at 2am!

Deejay Nick Russo started spinning vinyls in his basement in Marine Park, Brooklyn when he was just 15 years old. His inspiration and love for music comes from his father, who passed away in 2006, and who had a passion for rock and rock, song writing and guitars. Nick began doing mobile work at age 16, by djing sweet 16’s, weddings and other private parties, under the name DJ Illusionz.

Nick’s career took flight after moving into the bar scene and night clubs throughout Brooklyn. Greatly influenced by the late DJ AM’s talent and personality, as well as his collection of rare and unique sneakers, at age 17, Nick Russo opened up for Louie DeVito DJ Spin Bad and worked on stage with artists like Marina Martina (Stereo Love) Reina (No Ones Gonna Change You.Nick continued his passion for djing and increased his knowledge of sound and lighting by attending and receiving a full scholarship to New York City College of Technology. Nick also continuously updates his own music and sound technology. In 2009, he succeeded in landing several spots in New York City. Nick’s skills, popularity, charisma and ability to get the party started and keep the energy on the dance floor pumping long into the early morning hours, has given him the opportunity to spin and gain residences at top venues in NYC. He is also sponsored by foundations like Austism Speaks, Mayflower Foundation, Empire Liquors, and Project Sunshine.

Deejay Nick Russo is a successful one of a kind artist and is one of the biggest up and coming deejays who is doing big things in New York. According to Nick, to be a deejay is to live, breath and feel the music and make his audience feel the same.
