Set up your New Year's Eve pre-game with some explosive drink recipes

We’ve already established that New Year’s Eve is going to be a long night of drinking and dancing all around New York City. But for those of you who like to pre-game before a night of partying, we’ve got a few drinks that will make your celebration one to remember (or not remember at all).

One drink that’s sure to be a hit is Purple Haze, a tasty recipe calling for two ounces of vodka, ¾ glass of orange juice, and some blackberry schnapps thrown in. It’ll have you in a daze before you walk out the door.

If you’re feeling frisky, you might want to try the Legspreader, complete with one ounce each of tequila, vodka, gin, and rum. The tamer version asks that you add pineapple juice and 7-Up to this ridiculous drink.

Or if you’re really trying to get extra sloppy, whip up some Caribou Lou, a drink made famous by rapper Tech N9ne. Originated in Kansas City, Missouri, this dangerous concoction calls for two parts 151 proof rum, one part Malibu coconut rum, and five parts pineapple juice. It tastes too good to be true, but don’t say we didn’t warn you.

Check back tomorrow for the continuation of our insider’s guide to New Year’s Eve.
