Marble Lane Restaurant Debuts at Dream Downtown
Swanky eatery mimics hot meatpacking district vibe

Marble Lane in the Dream Downtown is officially open. Last Wednesday marked the first night of service for this sleek and sexy steak joint and bar. Chef Manuel Trevino (Lavo, Travertine, Top Chef)  has unveiled a beef-centric menu full of international takes on classic favorites like carne asada, porterhouse pizzaiola, and of course, American Kobe. Non-steak  items include  sweet corn agnolotti and crackling bobo chicken.

Appetizers range from accesible- tomato bisque with cheese toast, to complex- sweetbreads with truffles and citrus oil. Accent your meal with at least one of five potato choices including triple cream whipped spuds and a duck-fat potato souffle (!!). Raw bar and salads are available if you seek lighter fare. 

The ambiance and style of the restaurant match that of the Dream Downtown and the Meatpacking area in general- posh, posh, posh. All-black leather booths, tables and chairs are highlighted with white napkins, white candles and modern bubble chandeliers hanging above. A glass wall separates the bar from the dining room and is brightened up by a few discreet but beautiful orchid plants. The look is minimal but oh-so-hip.

So far the restaurant is only open for dinner and breakfast, but lunch by the pool is in the works. Hours are as follows: 5 pm-12 am Sunday through Wednesday, 5 pm-1 am Thursday through Saturday. Reservations are accepted.
