El Parador is one of the oldest names on the block...but that's no reason to write it off, it's stuck around for a reason! This joint opened up in 1959 and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Owner Jose "Alex" Alejandro took the reins from his father, who acquired the restaurant in 1990. Blockheads loyals will start singing a different tune once they step into this quaint and cozy Mexican hub. They have all your favorite dishes and some more unique selections, including Jalapenos Rellenos (jalapenos stuffed with anejo cheese or chunky peanut butter) and Mexican Fried Ice Cream. The staff is friendly and the customers are always enjoying themselves and coming back for more. It's best to make a reservation because even in the middle of the week, this place is hopping.
But El Parador isn't just known for its amazing food and delicious cocktails (can you say margaritas?)...this is a fab location for parties of all kinds -- birthdays, corporate functions, bachelor, you name it! The main restaurant can accommodate up to 120 people, and their downstairs cave (La Cueva) can host up to 40. With its own private bar, flat screen TV, and seating/dance floor, this is the perfect party atmosphere for you and your buds. Start off with a nice private dinner and then later have the staff whisk away the seats so you can boogie the night away.
But wait, there's more! Check out this hot spot Monday-Saturday from 3-6pm to take advantage of Afternoon Tasting Hour Specials, including $5 beers, sangrias, and house margaritas, as well as 1/2 price on select appetizers at the bar. So hurry up and take advantage of all the goods that El Parador has to offer! Rapido!
