There’s no doubt that New York City is the epicenter for stellar food and drink. In a city of endless options, where no cuisine isn’t countless, The Food Network’s New York Food and Wine Festival multi-day event is destined for yearly foodie appeal.

This year marks NYFW’s 5th B-Day meaning there will be lot’s of delicious celebration in store. Always conveniently falling on Columbus Day weekend, this year starting Thursday, October 11th through Sunday, October 14th 2012, NYFW will bring together the world’s greatest chefs, winemakers, spirits producers and personalities to educate palates and entertain patrons in high style, all while striving to fight hunger.

Some of the highlights? On Thursday, October 11th meatball lovers will enjoy San Pellegrino’s Meatball Madness hosted by Giada De Laurentiis featuring a slew of meatball variations from the city’s top chefs from traditional to truffle to lamb.

Also on Thursday, Whole Foods will present Shake & Bake with Whoopi Goldberg, Art Smith and guest, DJ Quest Love. This event will serve up a whole lot of fried chicken dishes from classic buttermilk served aside collard greens from Chef John Mooney of Bell Book & Candle to deep fried chicken thigh burger and harvest salad made by Barbuto’s, Chef Jonathan Waxman.

On Friday, October 12th hit the Blue Moon Burger Bash presented by Pat LaFreida Meats and hosted by Rachael Ray. At this meaty event (literally), between bread lovers will nosh on the city’s best burger creations with unique accompanying side dishes all washed down with Blue Moon Belgian White wheat ale garnished with a slice of orange.

Our favorite Saturday event doesn’t come cheap but rather steep at $300 a pop! Bank of America presents its annual dinner series hosted by Alain Ducasse and sponsored by Wine Spectator. Revelers will be welcomed with cocktails and sophisticated passed hors d’oeuvres before sitting down to a special anniversary menu featuring seared scallops drizzled in truffled parmentier, filet of Creekstone Farms beef Rossini and Poire Belle-Helene.

Sunday commences with showstoppers such as making macarons with notable chef, Francois Payard and Charles Phan’s Slanted Door dinner.

Once again, a lot of NYFW events are sold out or selling out at a speedy rate, so foodies gotta get bookin’!
