This past weekend, Fork and The Cork hosted its sixth annual event, displaying Northeastern Pennsylvania's premier wine and food at Mount Airy Casino Resort. The event, which is sponsored by igourmet.com and Entercom Communications, brought together the ultimate foodies and wine aficionados from the area, where they sampled gourmet foods, wines, beers, and spirits in the beautiful Fall weather. A whopping 1,100 guests showed up for the scrumptious event.
All event-goers received a passport, which took them from country to country (aka table to table), where they were able to try each country's delicacies from igourmet. Featured countries included America, Latin America, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, France, Scandinavia, Italy, Great Britain, and Asia. Other tables featured goodies from Truly Scrumptious, Electric City Roasting Company, 3Pigs.com, Overseas Ltd., and two of the Resort's restaurants, Red's Steakhouse and Le Sorelle Cucina.
There was quite a smorgasbord of beverages to taste, from Absolut Vodka to Ruffino Prosecco, Blufeld and Goose Island. Whether your poison is wine, beer, champagne, or liquor, they've got you covered. Standouts at the event were Mount Airy's fare from their exquisite restaurants, igourmet's Switzerland style meatballs, the Absolut cran vodka ice luge, and Maiolatesi Wine Cellars' Watermelon Cayuga White wine. There was also a picture taking station, a chance to win amazing prizes, and cooking demonstrations taking place during the event.
The event was held on Saturday from 2-6pm, with hot air balloon rides being offered from 5:30-8:30pm. Mount Airy was an ideal location for the annual event, as patrons could step inside and try their luck at Blackjack in between tastings or take in the beautiful views in the Poconos area. So keep your eyes peeled for next year's event, because it's sure to be a smash!
