OTC is one of the few restaurants in Miami that has given me the same kind of satisfaction I received after having meals in Paris, which is saying a lot when one compares our local burgeoning food culture to that of the perhaps the most important food city in the world (read review here). The order-at-the-counter restaurant has been making waves in Brickell’s dining scene ever since it opened with its honest, flavorful, and reasonably priced à la carte menu that enables diners to create their own meals from a variety of proteins, sandwiches, sides, and salads in addition to its ever-changing selection of craft beers. If you have yet to become addicted to this casual eatery’s cuisine, then now is as good a time as ever as OTC has recently unveiled a brunch menu and is launching its Beer Week this coming Tuesday, January 22nd.
Already known for items like a short rib and brie grilled cheese sandwich and the most delectable marrow bones with demi glace that I’ve had, OTC is adding a few “breakfasty” items to its menu on Sundays, when the restaurant will be serving brunch from 11:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Enjoy such items as classic eggs benedict or chicken and waffles with homemade maple butter. Those who favor more exotic options will gravitate towards Chef Tara Abrams’ breakfast tacos stuffed with pulled pork, pico de gallo, and scrambled eggs. there is also a vanilla French toast with macerated berries to satisfy the sweet tooth in all of us. The best part? For $15, you can pair your brunch offerings with unlimited mimosas, bellinis, and champagne!
After enjoying brunch this Sunday, make sure to come back to OTC when it kicks off Beer Week on Tuesday in participation with South Florida Beer Week. The restaurant is already well known for its carefully selected beers on tap, but this coming week, Chef Abrams has created some special menu items to pair with specific craft beers. A maduro-braised short rib and brie grilled cheese sandwich - a very Miami take on one of their most popular items - gets paired with a Cigar City Maduro Brown Ale, while chipotle BBQ pulled pork sliders are expertly matched with a Tequesta Gnarly Barley brew. Beer battered shrimp and corn fritters become the perfect accompaniment to Monk in Trunk Belgian Amber Ale, and Ommegang Witte arrives with a brightly flavored roasted beet and feta salad.
Brunch is served on Sundays from 11:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Beer Week commences on Tuesday, January 22nd, and the special menu items and beer pairings are available from 5:00 PM til closing time.
