Choice Streets Brings the Food Trucks to You
Growing in popularity The Village Voice's Choice Streets is back for its second year

Selling out in less than two weeks, The Village Voice Choice Street event is set to be one of the fastest growing and most sought out food festivals to hit the city. The little brother of The Village Voice Choice Eats food tasting event, Choice Streets brings together the city’s favorite food trucks all into one venue. As much as we love food trucks, that tends to be the most aggravating aspect of our love-hate relationship—tracking our favorite trucks down. Like Choice Eats, which brings together Village Voice’s favorite restaurants from throughout the five boroughs, Choice Streets takes out the traveling and gives foodies an opportunity to try food trucks that may never make their way over to their neighborhood or near their job.

Held on Tuesday, May 7th, at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum Complex on Pier 86 (West 46th Street), the Choice Eats tasting event will have a total of 25 food trucks dishing out their signature dishes. A rain date is scheduled for Thursday, May 9th. Of the 25 slotted to participate, only 18 trucks have been revealed with the rest being announced soon. Those 18 trucks include Big D’s Grub, Coolhaus, Desi Food Truck, Gorilla Cheese NYC, Mike N’ Willie’s, Nuchas, Palenque, Souvlaki GR, and Valducci’s Original Pizza, among many others. This year’s event will also include complimentary beverages and a private tour of the Intrepid and entertainment throughout the night on top of all the delicious food truck foods you’ll be able to sample. For the full list of food truck participants and sponsors of the Second Annual Village Voice Choice Streets food truck food tasting event, check out their website.

Once again, The Village Voice and Choice Streets have teamed up with the non-profit organization, Slow Food NYC, to help raise funds for their cause. A portion of the event’s ticket sales will be donated to Slow Food NYC to benefit their programming that helps city students learn about nutrition and sustainable foods. If you missed out on tickets and all your foodie friends got theirs you might win a pair by reviewing one of the food trucks! Visit the Choice Eats & Choice Streets Facebook for more info.
