Since its opening, Mercat continues to draw a huge crowd with its Catalonia-inspired cuisine. If you can tolerate the loud and constant din as part of the experience, then you can indulge in unique dishes and a wine list celebrating a variety of Spanish wines.

Executive Chef Jalinson Rodriguez intends to 'excite New York City's palette, adding new dimension to traditional tapas and creating awareness of Catalan cuisine and technique.'  He creates some of the most tantalizing meals among the flourishing Spanish restaurants in the city. Sample what Mercat is known for, patatas bravas - a light and crunchy treat, or brave the short noodles with squid ink. Guinea hen with English peas, potatoes and salsify is a nice alternative to the many fish dishes, as is the braised pork belly with butter beans. Looking to snack a bit instead? Mercat also has a lounge located below the restaurant that serves finger food exclusively. Of course no matter what you’re craving, there’s sure to be a wine among the many featured that will enrich your Spanish-tasting experience at Mercat.
