The Butterfly Now Serves Brunch
The popular Tribeca supper club and cocktail bar has expanded its menu

Tribeca is a popular neighborhood for weekend brunch, and while there’s no shortage of trendy spots, it can be tough to find restaurants that have both style and substance.  Fortunately. The Butterfly, a cozy cocktail bar and supper club in the area, now has a brunch menu.  Already a neighborhood favorite, the Butterfly is known for its superb cocktails, succulent fried chicken, and friendly Mid-western atmosphere.   With a menu brought to life by acclaimed Chef Michael White and cocktails crafted by renowned mixologist Eben Freeman, this place is a safe bet for a genuinely good brunch in a comfortable setting.

The new menu isn’t enormous, but contains plenty of tempting brunch classics.  For a more traditional take on your mid-morning meal, try the Biscuits and Gravy, made with honey butter biscuits, or the Egg White Frittata with fresh tomato salsa, avocado, and parmesan cheese.  If you like your breakfast to resemble dessert as much as possible, treat yourself to the Nutella French Toast with bourbon glazed bananas, or Blueberry Pancakes with whipped ricotta and maple syrup.  You also have the option of sticking to The Butterfly’s tried and true offerings as they’re also serving a Fried Chicken Brunch Basket with 3 pieces of their signature chicken, coleslaw, and biscuits.  Few dishes items veer far off the path of standard brunch fare, but the menu is more than sufficient if you’re in the mood for comfort food done really well.

Even if you come to The Butterfly in the morning, you’d be remiss not to order a drink at a place with “cocktail bar” in its description.   Skip the mimosas for once and spice up your weekend with a Grasshopper, made with tempus fugit, crème de cacao, crème de menthe, and clarified milk punch.  If that’s too much for you to handle at 11 am, you can always tone it down with an Old-Fashioned or classic Martini.

Whether you’re a newcomer or already a devoted fan of The Butterfly, it’s shaping up to be a great place to bring your friends on the weekends to enjoy great food and drinks in a pleasant atmosphere.  The Butterfly is now serving brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30 am-4 pm.  Check out their website for the full brunch and cocktail menu.
