This Fall, celebrate one of Mexico´s most delicious dishes at one of New York´s trendiest restaurants. From Tuesday October 1st through December 31st, Maya Modern Mexican Kitchen and Tequilería will host its 1st Annual Chile Relleno Festival. Maya, created and helmed by celebrity Chef Richard Sandoval, will take this Mexican food favorite and re-imagine it with a contemporary flare.
The chile relleno is traditionally a stuffed poblano pepper battered in egg or masa flour and fried. As Maya is known for its innovative take on traditional dishes, the chile rellenos featured throughout the festival will be crafted using an exciting array of fillings, sauces, and peppers.
Starting on October 1st, you´ll have the chance to enjoy a whole new level of deliciousness at Maya. In addition to the delicious updated classics and incredible selection of tequilas already on the menu, the Chile Relleno Festival features a Mini Relleno Tasting with seafood and vegetable varities. If you´re already familiar with Chili Rellenos, you might make the more adventurous choice of the Chile Seafood Relleno. This gourmet poblano pepper is stuffed with shrimp, calamari scallop, gouda, cilantro, black bean purée, and chile de árbol sauce. The rellenos featured in this Festival will be between $16 and $22, and each one has a unique, imaginative and flavor-packed concept.
