The Windsor Wins Best Wings in NYC!
The 2013 New York City Wingfest selected their "Chicken Wings with Sirarcha Honey"

  On Saturday, October 12, the annual NYC Wingfest took place at the Boat Basin Cafe. Restaurants that competed included Mason Jar, Tribeca Tap House, Bon Chon and East End Bar & Grill



The high-end sports bar, and one of our favorite spots, The Windsor  won Best Wings in NYC for Chef Kristine Mana-ay's Chicken Wings with Sriracha Honey.  

 The Windsor put the Sriracha Honey wings to the test and went up against past Wingfest champions,BBQue's Smoke Shack and Duke's New York.

Below is the recipe for the Best Wings in NYC:

The Windsor's Honey Sriracha Wings

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon paprika

1/4 teaspoon old bay seasoning

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

12 chicken wings


For marinade

2 cups buttermilk

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 tsp old bay seasoning


Honey Sriracha sauce

1 cup sriracha

1/4 cup honey

1 1/2  tablespoon chopped ginger

2 tablespoon scallion



*oil for deep frying

*Whisk together buttermilk, pepper, salt and old bay seasoning in a bowl. Add the chicken, coat with the marinade. Marinate in the refrigerator for  8 hours.

*When ready, in a small bowl mix together the flour,garlic powder, old bay seasoning, paprika, onion and salt. Place chicken wings in a large bowl and coat the chicken with the flour mixture  until they are evenly coated. Put it in a container and refrigerate for 1 hr.

*Heat the oil to 375. The oil should be just enough to cover the chicken wings.

*Combine the sriracha sauce, honey, chopped ginger and scallion then set it aside.

*Remove the chicken from the fryer, place the wings in the bowl and add the 1/4 sriracha honey sauce.  Serve!
