After battling cancer, Jana Khaimoff wanted to build a business for her children, and she embarked on a two-year tequila fact-finding experience,to launch her brand. Her seach led her to the family-owned and operated Ansan Distillery, which oversees each step of the process: from growing and harvesting the agave to the triple distillation and bottling.
“Family businesses are important to me,” said Khaimoff, who runs the business with her husband. “To find a partner who has passed down this trade for generations represents exactly why I created this company in the first place.”

A few recipes to follow or inspire your in-house mixologist:
GENERAL BARON (nice and simple with a massive leftovers sandwich)
2 oz tequila
1½ oz fresh grapefruit juice
1 oz fresh lime juice
½ oz agave
6 oz lemon-lime soda
Muddle the strawberries, add the remainder of ingredients except for the soda, shake, strain over ice top with the soda, garnish with strawberry and Grape fruit twist.
BARON MANILLOW (perfect for middle-aged women)
1 ½ oz tequila
1 oz tequila
1 oz pear Juice
1 splash lime juice
3oz Sparkling wine
Place ice in a shaker and shake. Mix remaining ingredients in a small liquid measure and stir together. Pour over ice and serve with a straw. Lime Wheel Garnish.
BARON TEQUILA SPICY MARGARITA (perfect to chase a bite of bland turkey)
1.5 oz. Baron Tequila
.25 oz. Grand Marnier
.75 oz. Lime Juice
.25 oz. Simple Syrup
Dash of Chipotle Chili Powder
Salt or Sugar Rim (optional)
Pour all ingredients into an ice-filled cocktail shaker and shake vigorously. Strain into an ice-filled rocks glass. Garnish with a lime wedge. Salt or sugar rim optional.
