Cocktails in Celebration

Whether you're celebrating at home or enjoying a cocktail before heading out to a hot party -- Joonbug has a few cocktail suggestions to help ring in 2014! These are all tasty and easy to create. Cheers to you, New York!
 










Midori Spotlight: This refreshing, light and colorful drink is the perfect way to make your guests smile and evoke a festive party atmosphere!

Midori Stop Light

¾ oz Midori

¾ oz Orange Juice

¾ oz Cranberry Juice

Layer in order of recipe

 






Old Cuban: Closely related to the mojito, this drink adds a touch of Champagne and a dash of bitters to liven up an old favorite.

1 handful fresh mint leaves (about 1 large sprig) plus more for garnish
1 1/2 ounces aged rum
1/2 ounce freshly-squeezed lime juice (1 lime)
1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons superfine sugar or 1/2 ounce Simple Syrup
2 dashes bitters, (recommended: Angostura)
Ice cubes
1 1/2 to 2 ounces dry Champagne, Prosecco or other sparkling wine

 
 
 
Dry Gin Martini with blue-cheese stuffed olives:

Ice
2 ounces gin
Splash of vermouth
Splash of the olive juice from the jar
2 blue cheese stuffed olives - you buy them already stuffed or simply cram crumbled blue cheese into a couple olives
Bamboo skewers






Pomegranate Martini: Always a crowd pleaser and always delicious! Add an orange slice (optional) to give the drink a citrus kick.

Lime wedge, plus more for garnish
Salt edge of glass
Ice
4 ounces white tequila
2 ounces Triple Sec
1/2 cup pomegranate juice
1 lime, juiced (optional)
