Fill next week's hump day with a heaping serving of barbecue and beer. Next Wednesday, join Hill Country as they host a barbecue dinner and beer tasting, sponsored by the Ithaca Beer Co.
Commence the event with a cocktail reception. You can forget about flavored martinis and tiny hors d'oeuvres on silver trays at this cocktail reception. This one is serving up a trio of house specialty sliders and pairing it with the "White Gold" and "Alphalpha" brews.
Prepared yourselves for two more courses of dripping barbecue deliciousness and a dessert, all paired with a complementary beer. First course offers up an apricot glazed smoked pork belly served with a spicy slaw, paired with Ithaca Beer Co.'s #1 selling beer, their "Apricot Wheat". A main course of guajillo crusted smoked rack of lamb with grilled spring onions will be complemented by the "CascaZilla" brew, hoppy and sweet. Break up the barbeque binge with a maple semi-fredo napoleon with toasted cashew caramel. Paired with their "Nut Brown" beer, the maple semi fredo is in perfect harmony with the beer's smooth taste of chocolate and coffee.
The dinner and tasting will be accompanied by commentary from the Ithaca Beer Brand Ambassador and Hill Country's resident pitmaster, Charles Grund Jr. History and explanation of the production process will be served along side each course. Get ready to loosen your belts, empty your glasses, and lick clean your plates.
