It's hard to believe that the same producer who brought us the tech house classics like ‘Body Monster’ and ‘Like This, Like That’ is responsible for the dreamy, groovy, kaleidoscope of sound that is “In My Factory.”
The debut album by Italian DJ and producer Leon is the recent house star’s first full-length body of work, just released on Steve Lawler’s VIVa Music.
True to the label’s signature emphasis on the underground and offbeat, “In My Factory” may not be everyone’s cup of tea—incorporating atmospheric white noise, cowbells, chants, and a varied assortment of sounds, some of the album’s tracks veer closer toward musical avant-garde than traditional house. But the beauty of “In My Factory” lies in its versatility: minimal and break beat find a place alongside sumptuously dark and groovy techno and deep house, creating a truly diverse body of work that offers something new and something familiar for every listener.
Having just emerged as a rising star in the scene in 2011, Leon once again proves himself a master of many genres with “In My Factory.”
The album is now available for listening and purchase on Beatport.
