While electronic music may not have originated in the United States, the genre has exploded domestically in the last few years - partly thanks to the European pioneers but also to the newer breed of American DJs who have fostered the growth.
DJ Times magazine is recognizing the incredible music produced and spun by domestic DJs with its seventh annual “America’s Best DJ competition.” The contest asks EDM fans to vote for their favorite American DJ out of the competition’s offered 100 nominees. The selection ranges from open-format DJs like A-Trak, to dubstep master like Skrillex, and of course the classic New York techno king Boris.
Will last year’s winner Kaskade be dethroned by a drum&bass DJ? Will a trance producer take the lead? It’s up to you, the fans, to decide! You can vote on the website and will be eligible to win prizes from Pioneer DJ such as trips to Las Vegas, DJ equipment and more.
