Tiesto Teams up with (RED) to Involve the Dance Music Community in the Fight Against AIDS
The Dutch DJ to release a compilation album and live stream to promote the cause and spread awareness

Since the aftermath of Sandy, an inspiring amount of DJs and artists have been stepping up to use their talent and influence to help bring people together. Charity and benefit shows have been popping up everywhere, using music as means to unite communities and help lift both spirits and funds. Tiesto, one of the dance music scene's biggest and most influential names, has decided to take this notion one step further, and team up with (RED) to fully engage the music community in the fight against AIDS.

Though this collaboration is new, Tiesto's involvement in the cause is anything but. Originally named the worldwide ambassador for the Dance4Life foundation in 2006, the Dutch icon has been using his fame for good by promoting the organization and helping raise awareness about the AIDS epidemic that he firsthandedly experienced on his travels to Africa. Additionally, for anyone who remembers one of the best parts of Miami Music Week last year, the epic soccer game that Sweden and Holland's top DJs played was put on in collaboration with (RED), and all players' autographed jerseys auctioned off and their proceeds donated to the cause.

This most recent project between Tiesto and (RED) will come in two forms, with the release of an exclusive compilation album entitled "Dance (RED), Save Lives," and a global livestream of Melbourne's Stereosonic festival on December 1st and 2nd. The album will feature artists such as Diplo, Calvin Harris, Avicii and Laidback Luke, in addition to a collaboration between Tiesto and Bono, one of (RED)'s cofounders. The livestream, featuring all of the above artists's sets, will be the first of it's kind for Stereosonic, and will be available for live streaming via Youtube.

This announcement marks a true milestone for (RED) and their cause, as they have generated over $200 million so far in the fight against AIDS. With Tietso and the rest of the dance music community's help, the goal is to spread awareness in order to rid the world of child-born HIV by 2015. The amount of energy that we as a generation of music lovers withhold is quite amazing, and we think that transferring this passion into supporting a good cause is a realistic and amazing opportunity. Be sure to grab the compliation album on its November 27th release, and tune into Stereo's livestream on December 1st and 2nd here.
