This Valentine's Day marked the start of something spectacular. While most were fretting about dates and love-me-nots, trance fans around the world were buzzing with anticipation for Armin van Buuren's A State of Trace 600 Expedition Tour, which was set to kickoff in Madrid on the day of love. With thousands of clubgoers eager to celebrate, and an eight hour live broadcast ready to reach millions around the world, Armin and his exceptional lineup of talent broadcasted the culmination of twelve years of A State of Trance with its 600th episode and began the Expedition Tour with a bang.
The buzz takes us back a few weeks to the live broadcast of episode 583, where Armin (donning his "New York State of Mind" shirt) was set to announce the first cities that ASOT 600 would pass through. Trance fans around the world tuned in, hoping that their months of campaigning had paid off, and sure enough Armin announced New York City as one of the coveted six locations that day, and fans around the Northeast exploded with excitement.
The anticipation has been mounting since, and with good reason. The Expedition Tour promises us an epic night at Madison Square Garden with some of the finest names in trance: Markus Schulz, Ferry Corsten, W&W, Alex M.O.R.P.H and of course Armin himself will grace the decks in this historic venue, and will bring with them a barrage of talent, energy, passion, and history to the greater New York City area. The NYC show marks the tour's penultimate night, following up events in Madrid, Mexico City, Sao Paulo, Minsk, Sofia, Beirut, Kuala Lumpur, Mumbai, Miami, and Guatemala City. With the ASOT 600 Anthem - a massive collaboration between Armin and Schulz - tying the whole thing together, March 30th can't come soon enough for NYC Trance Family.
