If there was a perfect time for Atlas Genius to make its grand introduction to the States, it's now. The Australian band, made up of brothers Keith Jeffrey (vocalist/guitar) and Michael Jeffrey (dummer), will kick off their first-ever North American headlining tour. The run includes sold-out nights in Houston, Santa Barbara, Denver, Minneapolis, Cambridge, and NYC, where the Australian band takes center stage at The Bowery Ballroom on June 18th and 19th. Atlas Genius is also in high demand among the festival circuit. They will be performing at numerous festivals, including the Sasquatch!, Lollapalooza, the Firefly Music Festival, Summerfest, Edgefest, San Francisco's BFD, and San Diego's X-Fest.
Atlas Genius shot to fame with "Trojans," the first single from the band's full-length debut, When It Was Now on Warner Bros. Records. It has already sold over 250,000 tracks in the US and has spent 49 weeks on Billboard's Alternative Songs chart. The track has been heard on shows as Grey's Anatomy, Deception, and the 90210 remake.
They've sold an impressive amount of records and were recently hailed as a "MTV Artist to Watch." To celebrate the band will be putting on a special show from the Studio at Webster Hall on April 30th that will be streamed live on MTV.com. Watch the video for "Trojans" below and catch Atlas perform their current single, "If So," on the Late Show with David Letterman on May 2nd.
