The Show Will Still Go On...But Now at Governors Island
Made Event's New York Made announces venue switch

Made Event recently announced its upcoming benefit event, New York Made. The event will serve much like a festival, running from 4 pm until 11 pm on Saturday, August 3rd. The lineup features Danny Tenaglia, Victor Calderone, Wolf + Lamb, and Sleepy & Boo, with special guest John Digweed. New York Made is “a special event to raise money and awareness for local charity partners supporting Randall’s Island Park and children’s arts education programs in the neighboring East Harlem and the South Bronx.” Made Event’s passion for music and the value of music education for our future generation shines through this local benefit event that they have organized. You might notice that each of these artists originated in New York, further adding to the “closer to home” vibe.

Originally planned to be held at Randall’s Island Park, the venue has been changed to Governor's Beach Club in response to the heavy damage following the Governor's Ball. Because of unusually severe rainfall earlier this month, the site is not yet fit for events. The park was hit so hard that Living Social’s Backyard Festival had to be cancelled, as repairs to the park will not be fulfilled before July 13th. Made Event’s decision to move New York Made to Governors Island will allow Randall’s Island more time to heal for their biggest event of the year, Electric Zoo. As of now, the festival is on its way to seeing its 5th year at Randall’s Island.

"The proceeds from New York Made will go to the Bronx Museum of the Arts, the Mariachi Academy of New York, and Urban Farm, a program of The Randall’s Island Park Alliance."
