Somewhere in BKN
Verboten Presents Luciano and more on Saturday, July 27th

What would you give in order to see your favorite DJ? A leg? An arm? Or perhaps everything you own? Well, fortunately for us all, we don’t need to give anything in order to see Luciano this July, except for a few dollars to purchase tickets. Verboten’s second event of the summer within the StageONE series is called Somewhere in BKN. The name is inspired by Mad Mike Bank’s record store, which was named “Somewhere in Detroit” because “it was a mobile store used to sell rare Detroit muscle car parts, rare synths, rare records, and other things at various mid-west swap meets, flea markets, and worldwide via mailorder.” The idea here is that location is insignificant. It doesn’t matter if we’re going to the most upscale club in New York, or the most obscure dive bar there is. What Verboten wants to reiterate is the music, and the power and influence it has over us. Rather than focusing on the physical experience, let’s direct our attention more on Luciano, who is the real reason we all are dying to attend this event, anyway.

In addition to Luciano on Saturday, July 27th, you can expect to see Carl Craig perform a back-to-back set with Moodymann and Agoria. This show will be the debut of Cadenza Records leader, Luciano, who will grace us with his presence on Saturday, July 27th. He will be coming from his summer residency at Ushuaia Ibiza, and will be spinning B2B with Carl Craig, an artist renowned for his unique collaborations of techno, jazz and soul. Somewhere in BKN will also bring Detroit-based Moodymann, best known for his techno/house beats. His newly released track “Some Mo” is gaining momentum, and can be downloaded here. Finally, France’s very own Agoria, who recently released his Rinse.FM mix recorded in London early this month, will also be found at Somewhere in BKN. You can listen here
