Times Are Gettin' Hard, But Definitely Not For Coone
Dim Mak releases first ever hardstyle track, "Times Gettin' Hard"

Steve Aoki, one of the coolest long-haired DJ’s you’ll ever meet, brought the name, “Dim Mak” to life when he founded the record label back in 1996. As an electro-house producer and DJ, Aoki's record label is heavily based on electro-house artists, such as Angger Dimas, The Bloody Beetroots, and Felix Cartal. But Dim Mak doesn't stop there; Aoki is an extremely open-minded guy and welcomes any sound that is out of the ordinary. This explains why the label also extends to genres such as dubstep, drum and bass, moombhaton, and electronica. With artists like Datsik, Infected Mushroom, and Dirtyphonics under its belt, Dim Mak has done a great job covering its bases.

More recently, however, Dim Mak has taken hardstyle under its wing. If you’re a fan of Coone, a Belgian hardstyle producer and DJ, you will be thrilled to know that he has just released the first lead single off his new album, Global Dedication, on Dim Mak. The track is called “Times Gettin’ Hard” (feat. K19). Displaying “ferocious bass lines, slamming kicks, and euphoric melodies,” the track serves as the gateway for many more hardstyle productions on Dim Mak Records. Global Dedication is set to release worldwide this fall, and is the result of Dim Mak working in partnership with Coone’s record label, Dirty Workz.

The video below shows the official signing of Coone to Dim Mak Records back in Miami during Ultra and WMC. It gives fans an idea of Dim Mak’s forward-thinking goals for the future, and acceptance of the growing hardstyle phenomenon. Aoki says, “It’s very important that Dim Mak supports hardstyle, we support Coone’s sound, and we’re still gonna keep it raw…we’re here to support Coone, we’re here to make sure that hardstyle is in its truest form. We love his sound, and we wanna embrace that sh*t and bring it out and run the world.”
