Coming straight from DC’s Life In Color Festival to NY in order to play a very special set, is the Grammy Award-winning DJ/producer, Afrojack. For one night only, Afrojack, born Nick van de Wall, will be taking over MCU Park in Coney Island, Brooklyn, to put on show like none he has presented before.
MCU Park, home to the minor league baseball team, the Brooklyn Cyclones, is a Brooklyn landmark. Situated just outside Coney Island’s famous boardwalk, the park features breathtaking views of both the Atlantic Ocean and the historic amusement park. Although the park endured significant damage from last year’s Hurricane Sandy, the venue is now revitalized and ready for a party even stronger than the hurricane itself.
Afrojack has come quite a long way since his beginning, and is known as one of the pioneers of Dutch House. He has won two Grammys—one for a remix (Madonna, “Revolver”), and one for a pop production (Chris Brown, “Look At Me Now”). But it wasn’t until he released “Take Over Control,” featuring the beautiful vocals of Eva Simons, that he went platinum. He also produced, co-wrote, and was featured on the 2011 summer anthem, “Give Me Everything,” with Pitbull, Ne-Yo, and Nayer. His most recent single, “As Your Friend,” featuring Chris Brown, is the first track off of his upcoming debut album, and has already been praised all over the USA.
Just before an album release, the parties tend to get wilder. With a lot of exciting new productions leading up to this release, it is without a doubt that Afrojack will showcase this material especially for his Coney Island crowd.
Tickets will be available for purchase on Friday, August 16th at 3PM EST here.
