In a collision of some of the most talented productions from separate, yet distinct principles, hails the Berlin based fusion group, Moderat. Composed of Sacha Ring, Aparat,Modeselektor, Gernot Bronsert, and Sebastian Szary, this eccentric, yet club ready group defies typical conceptions of how electronic music is produced and performed. As musically accomplished individuals and dear friends, Moderat plunged back into the studio to deliver their newest release, II, to their near devoted fanbase. Hard-techno and ambient ballads collide in Moderat: II and is sure mesmerize their conscious electronic audience. Now, as they move through their supporting tour, they are sinking their live performance deeper into what the album represents.
In a recent interview with The Do LaB, they stated that they are, “still experimenting but the concept seems to work well. The shows have their energetic moments but are mostly quite cinematic. We thought in terms of edm, led-walls and strobe overkills we need to go even further into the other direction. We want to give people who are into electronic music a bit of a break."
On Thursday 8/28, Moderat will be showing off their new production and experience in front of the live audience at Club Nokia in Los Angeles.
