Last Friday night we witnessed an unbelievable performance by Depeche Mode at Brooklyn's Barclays Center! The band jammed to an enthusiastic crowd of over 15,000 fans, banging out their classic 80's hits as well as tunes from their newest album, "Delta Machine." When the show opened, the band burst onstage, lead by frontman David Gahan, and backed by Andy Fletcher, Peter Gordeno, Christian Eigner, and Martin Gore. They opened with the dark masterpiece, "Welcome To My World," as Gahan's baritone voice chrooned hypnotic lyrics while he skillfully slinked around the stage. Gahan's mood seemed to change radically with every song, which captivated the audience as they rode his wave of emotions.
Although everyone in the crowd was clearly pumped throughout the performance, Depeche Mode's greatest hits, "Personal Jesus" and "Just Can't Get Enough" brought the house down. Chills took over the audience as they were completely electrified by the tried-and-true. The band closed the show on a high, as they strutted offstage to deafening cheers from their reveling multi-generational fans.
Shout-out to Depeche Mode..."I feel you," and we REALLY "just can't get enough."
