Ever wonder how acts like Lady Gaga, Avicii, Lana Del Rey, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and M.I.A. got their start? If you guessed the CMJ Music Festival, you are clearly in-the-know. CMJ has been holding it’s music festivals since October of 1981, and throughout that time, has successfully discovered and launched the careers of dozens of new artists each year.
This years’ full lineup can be found here, and includes psychedelic rock and Deli Magazine’s Nashville favorites, Sol Cat, along with pop singer-songwriter Jodi Good, and Brooklyn-based retro rockers Lily & The Parlour Tricks.
The launching platform for musicians also provides networking events, panels, and seminars for industry insiders. While the current price tag for a full badge is $549, CMJ is teaming up with LivingSocial for a 2013 Evening Showcase Pass for only $159. Although tickets will be sold before the event, the venue will be first come, first served, and will adhere to all “capacities and restrictions.”
The festival is certain to be THE destination for fall music discovery. Check out CMJ.com for more details on the celebration, which will run October 15 - 19.
