Great news for fans of Girl Talk, as the mash-up wizard, born Gregg Gillis, announced that he is working on a new collaborative EP with rapper, Freeway, entitled BROKEN ANKLES. The announcement came at his secret, sold-out show at New York City’s Brooklyn Bowl, to rowdy fans partying away to his signature mash-ups. Gillis stunned the crowd, as he brought out Freeway to debut the first single off of their forthcoming EP. The surprises kept coming, as they were joined on stage by Philly hip-hop duo, the Young Gunz (Young Chris and Neef Buck), who, along with Freeway, were a part of Jay Z’s Rocafella Records, and collectively known as State Property, along with other Philadelphia-based rappers. The electric crowd was treated to a genius mash-up of records dating back to the 90’s, with modern day hits like Daft Punk's smash, "Get Lucky," over Michael Jackson's "Remember The Time." There is no release date announced for the EP, which will be Girl Talk’s first release since his 2010 effort, All Day. Stay tuned here for more details as they develop.
