Sports fans, and music fans alike, listen-up! Jim Dolan, owner of The Rangers and The Knicks, CEO of Madison Square Garden and Cablevision, is also in a band! He started this band with some buddies from his office in 2000, and they call themselves, JD & the Straight Shot. They will be performing this Sunday night at The Cutting Room in NYC. Follow-up an afternoon of games, with a night of bluesy-rock with JD and his band.
JD & the Straight Shot has opened for greats like ZZ Top and Willie Nelson, and is currently in the process of recording their fifth studio album. The band consists of Dolan, and guitarists Marc Copely and Adam Levy, who help pen the band's music and lyrics. There is also keyboardist Brian Mitchell, who plays harmonica and accordion as well, along with drummer Shawn Pelton, bassist Zev Katz, and violinist Lorenza Ponce.
This one headlining set comes as a break for the band from opening for The Eagles on their “History of The Eagles” tour. Play time starts at 9:30 on Sunday, November 10th. No cover.
