This weekend, Pacha New York continues its 8 year anniversary celebration with a great line up of artists, including Pete Tong and Reboot. Pacha will begin Saturday night with the Spanish style house music of hugely popular DJ duo Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano. After playing with them in Ibiza, Axwell said “If there were a Dutch version of Swedish House Mafia, it would be Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano.” At there shows there is no time to sit on the side lines, it’s nothing but arms in the air and smiles all around. They keep entire crowds moving & excited, as seen with an epic main stage set during the third day heat of the TomorrowWorld Festival this past September. Sunnery & Ryan are amazing performers that have gained success globally. See them once, and you will understand what the hype surrounding them is.
To say he has been an influential figure in dance music is an understatement; Pete Tong is a living legend of House. This Saturday he returns to Pacha to give New York what is bound to be a memorable show. Pete Tong is known for his BBC Radio 1 show, "It's all gone Pete Tong" internet radio show, as well as his famed Essential Selections & Essential Mixes that have featured the hottest tracks by the biggest artists. He began as a DJ at age 15, and worked up to being a booking agent and then a club owner. Building a reputation of having an amazing ear for tracks, Pete Tong quickly became a popular club & radio DJ. Keeping up with the times has never been a problem for this DJ, as he has had an ever evolving and progressing style. During his extensive career spanning the past few decades, he has broadcast thousands of radio shows and worked with almost every single DJ you can think of, and some you can’t.
For those who have never seen Pete Tong live, he has a completely different style then that played in his radio shows. In his radio broadcasts Tong plays the most current and top hits of dance music, but during his live performances the British DJ favors a more underground style of electronic music. Behind the decks Pete Tong is not afraid to show off his roots of acid house, featuring many jazz, blues and funk riffs, hard drum samples & many throw back track all mixed together seamlessly. However, Pete Tong has an incredible ability to read what a crowd wants, so you never know what he might throw in the mix. He’s known for his fan pleasing performances that keep dance floors moving, and this night at Pacha should be no different.
The night at Pacha will be concluded with music by German production wizard Frank Heinrich, aka Reboot. . Any fans who have the energy to stick it out for this DJs closing set are in for a treat of his unique futuristic style that is known for the combination of sound with cerebral sensory, audio with emotional feelings. He plays a musical spectrum from jazz to world music to classic house & he now spearheads ‘the new sound of Frankfurt’. Reboot has described his style as ‘complex polyrhythmic architecture’, which in layman’s terms is awesome dance music.
Throughout the night music in the basement will be provided by Nocturnal Vibes Entertainment. Headed up by John Bon, the Staten Island based group’s music will also include sets by Jessie Boria, Reggie Perez, Eric Dury & John Reis. The Nocturnal Vibes crew plays a deep style of tech, Spanish & tribal sound that strikes a chord with party goers and fans of the darker styles of house should check them out. The group is sure to make sure every level of the Mega Club is kept dancing all night long.
