ARTIST PROFILE
Feature Artist Profile: Keri Hilson

“I come across a lot of people who are opportunists and they’re like, ‘If it happens, it happens.’ I’m not one of those. I’m a go getter.”- Keri Hilson

When producer Polow da Don asked R & B singer Keri Hilson, “'What producer do you think would get you where you want to be as an artist?” she told him producer Timbaland. Apparently, the young songstress did her homework because she definitely seems to be on her way to eminence- with her first album, In a Perfect World, debuting at the top of the charts this year. The ‘perfect world’ Hilson talks about on her record seems to be within reach.

CAMILLA BELLE
Joe Jonas "Swift" Attack at Taylor

Caught: Last night at the Jonas Brothers concert in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Joe Jonas replacing "Much Better's" song lyric "now I'm done with super stars" to "now I'm done with country stars." Obviously making a reference to his ex country star sensation, Miss Taylor Swift herself. OUCHH. That hurts. Really Joe? Get over it! That was so last year, and I'm sure current girlfriend Camilla Belle just loves when you give shout outs to the ex's instead of her.

See the stunt he pulled yourself. Nick's reaction is classic!

DANGER MOUSE
Upcoming Concert Tour Dates: The Black Keys

The Black Keys are an Ohio based duo who spent years perfecting their sound in an unfinished basement. In 2007, they were fished out of oblivion by producer/musician Danger Mouse (Gnarls Barkley, Gorrilaz, The Grey Album). According to the band’s website, “The Black Keys have been able to make something ferociously noisy, deceptively melodic, and surprisingly sincere out of the simplest tools and riffs.” The duo will be going on a short tour this summer, playing at multiple music festivals across the country.

ACOUSTIC
Featured Artist Profile: Adele

Adele
Genre: Soul, Acoustic, Pop
Website: www.adele.tv

“As soon as I got a microphone in my hand, when I was about 14, I realized I wanted to do this.” “Most people don’t like the way their voice sounds when it’s recorded. I was just so excited by the whole thing that I wasn’t bothered by what it sounded like.”

Surprise surprise, England has managed to pump out yet another female jazz singer with a voice that has carried her overseas. Born Adele Laurie Blue Adkins, but known professionally as Adele, she is one of London’s finest…and youngest. She is barely 19, which would explain the title of her debut Album, 19. The entire record was written about Adele’s emotional breakup with her bi-sexual ex-boyfriend. She describes her music as “heartbreaking soul,” and with her poetic talent she leaves no heart untouched.

1 THING
Feature Artist Profile: Amerie

“It sounds like a cliché, but I always knew I was going to sing. I always knew that music was what I was going to do." -Amerie

So far, Amerie Mi Marie Rogers a.k.a. Amerie has had a more than modest career. She has sang alongside rap legends Nas and Fat Joe. She appeared in a major motion film (First Daughter alongside Katie Holmes), and with three successful albums already under her belt, the talented singer has been rumored to be readying her fourth album, “In Love & War”, which should be out later this summer. Her latest single, “Why R U," was released earlier this month and has already received good feedback- securing her spot in the R & B world. Amerie has had quite a few hits, including, “Why Don’t We Fall In Love,” from her 2002 debut album, “All I Have." Her second album, “Touch,” spawned her biggest single to date, “1 Thing," which was certified platinum in 2005 and also resulted in several award nominations. Her third album, “Because I Love It” was released in Europe in 2007.

CHRIS BROWN
No Cameras at Rihanna’s Testimony Against Chris Brown

According to reports from CNN.com, singer Rihanna’s first hearing for Chris Brown’s assault trial scheduled for Monday, June 22nd, will not be televised. Rihanna, 22, will be called to the witness stand to testify against Brown, 20, under the claims that he physically attacked her on the eve of the Grammy Awards earlier this year. A sketch artist, however, will be permitted in the Los Angeles courtroom.

LIVING THING
Peter Bjorn, and John...and Their Summer Tour

Peter Bjorn and John are one of the most interesting and compelling groups to come out of Sweden. They hit it big with the hipster anthem, “Young Folks” in 2006. They released a new album, Living Thing, on Mar 31st. According to RollingStone, “The melodies are winsome throughout, but Living Thing is a record for beat mavens, with clattery drum–programming propelling songs that nod to Depeche Mode ("It Don't Move Me") and South African township jive ("Living Thing")."
