It's almost that time of the year. The time when everyone is dying to look there best while staying cool. That's right, summer's around the corner; and if you're going to be putting on anything extra this season, it should be an accessory, a jewelry accessory. Fortunately here on Joonbug we've gathered some key jewelry trends to perk up your summer wardrobe.
Our first trend is Floral Flare. The ideal way to accent graphic prints and patterns as well as bright colors, is to tie in a floral motif necklace that may feature fluorescent colored gems and crystals that create bold flower bouquets. Beaded fabrications and floral rings also up a garment. Oscar De La Renta perfected this look on the runway using floral necklaces, cuffs, and broaches.
Geometric is our second trend. As another way to accent prints and patterns, the geometric trend is also exceptional in accenting shape and accentuating silhouette. These pieces are often bold and over the top, but can sometimes be subtle and understated. They feature different shapes, geometric patterns and well defined, sometimes sharp edges. These include long and short necklaces, metal cuffs, rings and earrings. Metal and antique finishings like gold, silver and gunmetal are an alternative to bright colors.
Last but not least is Oriental. Quite possibly the most lavish trend, Oriental pieces work well as adornments for beachwear and bikinis, long caftans and evening gowns. This trend features eastern inspired embellishments, dramatic gold surfaces, and vibrantly colored gemstones. Fashion houses like Givenchy have enlisted these tactics in house and on the runway. Implementing this trend can spice up your look with long beaded necklaces, layered chains and detailed head pieces.
