Glam Damn It
As Fashion Week in New York City hits the final stretch, a select few of privileged guests braved the cold on Monday evening to gather at Tao Downtown in Downtown Manhattan, where they were invited by Television star and "Dancing with the Stars" veteran, Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Robert Kheit to preview Cantamessa Men, a high-end collection of men's jewelry. It was a night to remember with a slew of familiar faces including fellow DWTS alumn, Tony Dovolani, broadway rock star, Constantine, as well as Disney starlet and budding fashionista Zendaya. Whether you are kicking it with the girls , searching for your soulmate, or snuggling up with your sweetheart - we want you to look just like the star you are with these glam looks from the Golden Globes. And to provide you with the perfect guide, we've teamed up with iconic Manhattan salon Pierre Michel Salons best. The focus of all these makeup looks is radiant skin. I love that all the ladies have decided to go with fresh glowing skin look . They all seem to be very minimal with beautiful highlighted cheeks and clean eye.
Even Olivia and Reese have a modified version of the smoky giving it a soft look with light browns golds and grays as opposed to the black .It gives the evening makeup look but a much softer appearance while still making the eyes pop.
Using a luminous finish foundation can give the skin that luster. Also a highlight powder or cream on the cheekbones to give the skin that glow . All opted for a nude lip or gloss as well except Zooey, who left the eye makeup natural and chose the lip as the focal pont with a bold red lip. Claret from Face Stockholm or Dragon Girl from Nars are a few of my favorites.
The fusion of music and fashion has always been harmonious. And this Fashion Week, the music has been top notch. However, nobody killed it quite as well as Brit pop artist, ALUNAGEORGE, during the Rebecca Minkoff runway show.
Rebecca Minkoff’s Fall 2014 collection introduces the notion of modern practicality, opting for a simpler, more understated approach to dressing. With an emphasis on clean lines and harmonious separates, Minkoff’s vision of the contemporary woman shines through: She strikes a balance between masculine and feminine with confident ease.
The beauty looks were stunning - dark Lorde-esque lips with two tone nails and bodacious blow outs. The perfect metallics and patent accessories with gorgeous slouchy beanies stole the show and everyone is mad about plaid for next season! The collection redefines classic menswear through feminine colors and softer silhouettes. Tailored Crombie coats, boyish trousers, and sharp button-downs get the ladylike treatment as they are slimmed-down and shown in a palette of soft grey, petal pink, noble green, navy, and tobacco. The essence of the empowered working woman embodies everything Rebecca Minkoff designs and styles for. Effortlessly chic and totally tailored.
New York Fashion Week closed its first evening with a heart-pounding bang at the Red Dress show. The event, sponsored by the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign to fight heart disease in women was a celebrity-filled stunner to round out the week’s premier day. Heart disease kills more women than all types of cancer combined. To support and raise awareness of this, celebrities played the models and donned dazzling red dresses as they danced down a runway at Lincoln Center’s main theater. All about female empowerment, the Red Dress Collection had a casual and fun flair that is a little different from the haute couture collections usually on the runway in the main theater. With an introduction by the heart disease survivor and The View host Star Jones, the packed theater knew they were in for a treat.
It's that time of year again, when the cream of the crop, also know as the best in fashion, come out to show us what they've got in an amazing selection of fashion shows and presentations. The shows take place at the plush tents set up at Lincoln Center and start on Fenruary 6th till the February 13th. Keep it here on GlamDamnit, where we'll have everything you need to know about your favorite designers and when their showing what you'll be wearing next fall.9AM MATHIEU MIRANO 10AM CAROLINA HERRERA 11AM NOON BY NOOR 11AM TOMMY HILFIGER
